Star Home Watch Services owner Brian Harrison is a lifetime resident of Charlotte County, Florida. His family moved to Charlotte County in 1968 when he was just a few weeks old.
Brian is a military veteran and spent over 35 years serving as a law enforcement officer. He graduated from Port Charlotte High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Lynn University. After high school, Brian joined the U.S. Army as a military police officer stationed in Panama during the removal of dictator Manuel Noriega. He returned home and continued his service to the community with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, retiring earlier this year as a Captain, after more than 31 years. During his tenure with the Sheriff’s Office Brian held many positions, primarily as a line supervisor and middle manager, to include investigations, special operations, training director and SWAT commander.
Brian raised his family in Charlotte County and was known as “coach” by many having coached youth sports for several years. He is an avid fisherman and likes to tinker with classic muscle cars. Brian has been married to his wife Lisa, a teacher at Port Charlotte High School for 32 years. He has three boys, one a fireman in Tampa, one serving in the military and one a property department appraiser for Charlotte County.
Brian’s connections to the community, knowledge of the area and commitment to the community is an asset to the clients of Star Home Watch Services, a registered, bonded, insured, and accredited company.
When I retired, I wanted to own a small business, do something to work for myself for the first time in my life while continuing to provide a service to the residents of Charlotte County. Every year when our seasonal residents started to arrive in Charlotte County for the winter, the Sheriff’s Office would be called because their homes were burglarized, vandalized, received storm damage, had a water leak, or sometimes had squatters staying in their home. As a home watch service company, I have the opportunity to keep a watchful eye on their property, giving them piece of mind that someone is looking out for them.
